Petrus Santi
Petrus Santi
24 x 48 x 1 Mixed Media. Acrylic and modeling paste on canvas. This sculptural painting was inspired by a “Souls Journey” by artist Sandy Ciola Stevens as well as Saint Peters Cathedral. The work occurred during Covid 19 Pandemic through a year of seclusion. It is interesting to note that Saint Peter was the patron saint called upon for fever and longevity, so the painting conveys a theme of hope. The windows and doors, which are a constant theme in the artist’s work, represent something beyond the present and delivers a sense of mystery and possibility. The many little vignettes are the artist’s, “souls journey” during a difficult year of introspection and arrival to an attitude of gratitude and of true priorities.
